Is there a way to count log-ins?

It seems a shame to put out tons of letterboxes and collect so many
log-ins and not count them. Or is there?

And what would the abbreviation for that be? Would it be your L I count? Good grief. Why not just wait for the log books to fill up, go collect them and call it a day?

If you're interested in counting them, go right ahead.

I suppose you are looking for a fancy web doo-dad
that does this for you though. Just remember that not all
finders are interested in reporting their finds, and that
not all placers want their boxes tracked. Some letterboxers are
funny like that.

Remember that letterboxing started about 140 years
before the advent of the internet, and so the addition
of all of this "information at the fingertips" is relatively new.
Much of the charm of the hobby has to do with the lack of
readily available information, allowing for the secrets to
reveal themselves slowly over time, and for each new clue
to bring a burst of excitement.

Even a simple walk in the woods to check on a box that you've
planted can be full of mysteries - Is it still there? Who
has visited? Is there a HH in the box? Will I meet other
'boxers on the trail? Having ready made information at your
fingertips can drain a lot of the fun from a boxing excursion.

Sure, you could have hundreds of letterbox statistics
beamed in real-time to your cellphone, available 24 hours
a day. You could install surveillance cameras at every box.
Tracking devices in your hitchhikers. A 27' video display
in Times Square displaying everyones PFX counts.

Why?

Go for a walk in the woods. Enjoy not having all the answers.
Be at one with the letterboxes.

Try http://www.atlasquest.com

You can record your finds (that is, if the hider has entered their LB
into the database - mine are there). Here's the link to the page where
you can lookup the letterbox to add to your F-count.:
